“It Takes A Village”: Capital Campaign to Support Seniors in Delta Through Day Program for Older Adults in KinVillage.

At KinVillage, we believe in the significant impact a community can have in uplifting and supporting its members, especially our seniors. KinVillage is dedicated to raising $3 million to enhance and expand the Day Program for Older Adults (DPOA). Your support is vital for achieving this goal, enabling us to offer a wide range of care, activities, and respite services for seniors and their caregivers.

Our Goal

We need your help to raise $3M - that will allow us to enhance and expand our Day Program for Older Adults. As the need grows, our program must grow to meet it. An expanded program will double the amount of older adults we can accommodate within our community, supporting their dignity, needs, and independence.

By giving older adults and caregivers the support to live at home longer, the necessity of institutionalization is often reduced, or even avoided—this lightens the strain on our healthcare system and gives everyone involved a higher quality of life.

What Is A Day Program?

Our Day Program helps older adults with health challenges continue to live at home by supporting physical functioning, cognitive functioning, health monitoring, and caregiver well being.

Participants usually visit 1-3 days per week where they can enjoy a variety of support and services. This vital support helps individuals remain in their own homes as long as possible.

The Need Is Growing

  • As the aging population grows in Delta, the waitlist for our program continues to increase as well.

  • Currently, most new applicants are waiting for 4 months or more to participate.

  • Limited equipment, staffing, and space means our program can currently accommodate only 11 adults each day.

  • Overcoming these challenges would increase our capacity and dramatically shorten wait times.
