Meet Our Leadership Team

  • DAVID THOMPSON

    INTERIM CEO

    David Thompson has extensive experience as a leader in the health care system as well as serving on the boards of national organizations focused on health care. He spent most of his career in leadership roles at Providence Health Care and Fraser Health in British Columbia. David has expertise in integrated health care systems with a particular focus on seniors care. David is also a Surveyor and Team Leader with Accreditation Canada where he participates in health service accreditation surveys at organizations across Canada. As a health care executive, David is committed to care, quality, leadership and innovation. Throughout his career, David has been actively involved in the health care leadership community through professional organizations and mentorship. In 2019, David was recognized with the Canadian College of Health Leaders National Mentorship Award

  • CAROL HOWARD

    CAROL HOWARD

    DIRECTOR OF HOUSING

    Carol has extensive knowledge in the field of community health care, developed through 25 years working and leading in organizations that serve those with disabilities, children and older adults. While much of Carol’s early career in England focused on the provision of government social services management, with her move to Canada came an opportunity to work in the not-for-profit sector. Carol joined KinVillage in 2011 after working as the Continuum of Living Manager with LutherCare Communities in Saskatchewan.

  • NADINE BROWN

    DIRECTOR OF HEALTH SERVICES

    After graduating from the University of Manitoba with her Degree in Nursing, Nadine moved to Vancouver to find better weather! Nadine worked in a variety of clinical areas prior to joining KinVillage in 2003. After joining KinVillage as a Staff RN, Nadine subsequently progressed through a range of leadership roles including Clinical Practice Leader, Director of Care and now KinVillage’s Director of Health Serivces. Nadine discovered her passion for working with seniors when she came to KinVillage. She strives to create a warm and positive home for residents and to provide resident-centered care with dignity and compassion.

  • BETTINA SALINI

    DIRECTOR OF WELLNESS

    Bettina has been contributing at KinVillage since 2000, initially as a member of the recreation team in our care home, then as its Manager of Recreation, and now as the Director of Wellness. She is responsible for planning, coordination and oversight of wellness programming across KinVillage, including all residential areas and the Community Centre, as well as overseeing volunteer engagement. Bettina has consistently displayed dedication to KinVillage’s Mission, is deeply committed to providing person-centred care, and is passionate about supporting wellness for the diverse and ever-changing needs of those we serve.

  • JIM WEAVER

    DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

    Jim comes to KinVillage with a wide range of experience in financial management, reporting and systems management. He has held leadership roles in seniors’ housing, healthcare, construction and property management. Prior to joining KinVillage in November 2022, Jim was the Financial Controller for two local companies building and operating homes for seniors, including independent living, assisted living and memory care. A part of his interest in seniors housing care comes from experiences in helping to locate suitable subsidized housing for family members.

  • AIZA SAJJAD

    DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES

    Aiza is a dynamic HR leader with extensive experience in fostering collaboration and implementing change to achieve Workforce excellence. She has multiple years of experience in all areas of Human Resources including Talent Management, Total Rewards, Performance Management, Employee Wellness and Safety, Leadership Development/Training. Prior to joining the KinVillage team, Aiza led a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiative for the BC Cancer Foundation and developed a Total Rewards plan for Better Business Bureau. Aiza holds quality care to for older adults close to her heart and has achieved this by enhancing employee experience and efficient process management. Aiza strives to ensure the older adults at KinVillage thrive through dependable care.

  • KRISTEN THOMAS

    DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

    Kristen has been in the wine industry for over twelve years representing international and local recognizable brands on both the retail and licensee business.

    She is a natural networker and excels at building long-lasting relationships with her customers. She also thrives on helping others and values learning from those around her. Kristen is excited to help build awareness of the KinVillage Association project by raising funds to improve the quality of life of all seniors.
